Jossbox was an online beauty and fashion magazine, which needed an urgent website revamp. I rebuilt the desktop-only site to support mobile users, and optimized the file sizes of its images to significantly reduce the website's load times.

Jossbox's server-side was running on Magento, which meant that adapting the layout involved modifying certain Magento template files. That being said, most of this project consisted of work with pure HTML & CSS, as well as JavaScript and jQuery.
I've had a really great experience working with Julian. It was really easy to communicate our requirement before the project started and subsequently any changes we wanted during the project especially since I'm not very good with development jargon. The process was also made easy by Julian's good aesthetic sense coupled with his efficient work ethic. I am really happy with the now mobile-optimized Jossbox.com and I look forward to our next project.

Responsive, Mobile-Friendly Layout

The old version of the website supported only desktop users, but I rebuilt it to be fully responsive, so that it would adapt to all screen sizes.

Mobile Navigational Menu

An important aspect of adapting the website for mobile involved creating the togglable, slide-down menu for phone users.

Speed Increase

While working on making the website responsive, I noticed that many of its pages took a very long time to load. Upon investigating this, I found out that the culprits were the many, excessively-large images being hosted. After optimizing them, and reducing their file sizes, I was able to significantly improve the load times of various pages - in some cases, from 8 seconds to only 2 seconds!
